Trust reported that the announcement was made at the Progressive Governors
Forum on Policy Synergy held in Birnin Kebbi.
He
also explained that the setting up of the universities was in line with the
policy of the present administration to boost education in all spheres.
However,
he said that the administration needed N4.2 trillion to fund the country’s
education sector, and appealed to state governments to pay their counterpart
funds to access their funds.

speaking on Tuesday, August 1, in Kebbi state at the Federal
Government-Progressives Governors’ Forum, the minister of education, Mallam
Adamu Adamu, said that the former president Goodluck Jonathan’s administration
formulated a policy in 2012 which combined CRK, IRK and Social studies into one
elective and implemented the policy in 2014.
It
was gathered that Mallam Adamu said: “The Jonathan administration had
formulated a policy in 2012, combining CRK, IRK and Social studies into one
elective and implemented the policy in 2014. Immediately I came in as education
minister, I was briefed about the policy.
