UNILAG: 2016/2017 ACCOMMODATION EXERCISE FOR FINAL YEAR AND RETURNING STUDENTS

The Student Affairs Division, University of Lagos will begin balloting for accommodation for final year and returning students on Monday, November 21, 2016. The balloting exercise will end on Friday, November 25, 2016.

ONLY Registered students are expected to take part. 
GENERAL GUIDELINES ON ACCOMMODATION OF HALLS OF RESIDENCE (HoR)
 1. The 2015/2016 accommodation exercise is strictly an online distribution and allocation of bed spaces.

ASUU ends warning strike, orders lecturers back to class

The Academic Staff Union of Universities on Tuesday confirmed that it had ended its one week nationwide warning strike over the non-implementation of a 2009 agreement with the Federal Government.
The President of ASUU, Prof. Biodun Ogunyemi, who said this in Abuja, urged lecturers to return to work.
“We are making progress, especially with the intervention of the Senate. In the next one or two meetings, if we are able to get a clear path to the matter, we will avoid elongation of the strike action.
“I have been receiving these reports that ASUU says strike continues. No. The strike ends today (Tuesday). All lecturers are to go back to work Wednesday morning.”
According to him, ASUU was hopeful of a positive outcome, going by the response coming from the Federal Government.

ASUU Direct Members to Commence Nationwide Strike

The Academic Staff Union of Universities has directed its members nationwide to commence a one-month additional warning effect strike to commence from Wednesday, November 23 to protest the non-implementation of its 2009 agreement with the Federal Government.
According to ASUU, the strike action will be "total and comprehensive", adding that while it lasted, there would be no teaching, examinations and attendance of meetings in any of its branches.

LASU Pre-degree Admission 2016/2017 Session Has Commenced


Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates for admission into the Lagos State University Pre-Degree Studies Programme .
It is an intensive programme to prepare candidates with deficiency in their O’level result for admission into the 100 level degree programme of Lagos State University.
The Programme is located in the Lagos State University, Epe Campus.
ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS
Candidate with complete O-Level result and those with credit passes in at least three (3) Subjects.
Students who meet the admission requirements will be invited for a written qualifying examination.

THE COURSES TO BE OFFERED ARE:
Mathematics
English Language
Physics
Chemistry
Biology
Government
Economics

CRITERIA FOR TRANSITING TO 100 LEVEL
Transition to 100 Level is NOT AUTOMATIC as each student is expected to sit for the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) and also OBTAIN the minimum JAMB cut off mark for the University Admission as well as sit for the University Screening Test.
In addition, the STUDENTS will be REGISTERED for WAEC and NECO and are expected to pass all the relevant deficient subjects.
Successful students are allocated to the 100 Level courses of related Faculties: Engineering, Science, School of Agriculture, Management Sciences, Education and Social Sciences at the end of the programme.

A. ONLINE PAYMENT
I. Prospective students should visit www.lasu.edu.ng and select MAKE PAYMENT option in the drop down list at the top, to make the required payment of N10,000 for the 2016/2017 LASU Pre-Degree Studies
II. After payment, candidate should proceed to register online

Important Notice to FUNAAB Students On Issuance/ Collection Of ID Cards


It has come to the notice of the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB) Administration that many of their undergraduate students are yet to process/ renew their ID Cards. It is also noted that many of those whose ID Card got missing /lost in one way or the other are yet to follow the necessary procedure for replacement.

To this end, all concerned students are hereby given up to Friday, 4th November 2016 to process /renew their ID cards without any further delay.
Remember 2nd Semester Examination is fast approaching and no students would be allowed into the Examination hall without his/her ID cards.
NOTE: NO MORE INSURANCE OF TEMPORARY ID CARDS.

RSUST Fresher Students Orientation Exercise 2016/2017 has Commenced


The management of Rivers State University Of Science (RSUST) And Technology has announced the 2016/2017 Orientation for newly admitted students.
The exercise will commence as from Sunday 23rd To Wednesday, 27th October, 2016.
